That leaky tap could be a wealth drain
We’ve had a leaky radiator in our upstairs bathroom for a while now. It bothers me. But evidently not enough to do anything about it until we get the room refurbished and the radiator replaced. But Cheltenham-based Interior Designer and certified Feng Shui consultant Chrissie Steinham says that sinking feeling I get when I see the bowl catching the drip isn’t just a fleeting discomfort.
It could be hampering our ability to achieve a more affluent life.
“Water from a Feng Shui perspective represents wealth. So if you’ve got leaky taps or radiators it is a symbolic representation of losing wealth,” Steinham told Sport and Life.
“It is also that mental load of having to organise the repair, it can be a real mental drain.”
Put the toilet seat and lid down!
On the subject of bathrooms and bank balances, I’ve got bad news gents. Steinham says my wife isn’t just being a nag when she reminds me to put the toilet seat AND lid down.
“Your bathroom and loo is where water and energy drains away but there are things you can do to mitigate that.
“What we want to do is slow that energy down and keep it in the home, so keeping the toilet seat down in your bathroom and keeping bathroom doors closed”
Don’t hang onto broken stuff
In general, if you’d like to have more money, to have a more aspirational life it’d be a good idea to throw away chipped crockery and replace cracked windows.
“Broken things are a real drain on your wealth and your energy. So if you can get rid of those things I would advise you to.
“But at the same time don’t be so hard on yourself because sometimes we can go blind to what is around us.”
Find the wealth corner in your house – and then set some money goals
Finally, there is an area of the house to be most aware of when looking to maximise your wealth. It just requires getting a compass out (there’s probably one on your phone).
“Every home has nine different areas and each one relates to a different area in you life. One of these areas is your wealth area and this is your southeast area.
“You might want to lean into the southeast area of your home and maybe write an affirmation there about the type of job you want and the type of salary you want to get.”
